Krispy Kreme is open in Cambodia!

Hello Everyone!

Monday:

Krispy Kreme is open in Cambodian PP! That was pretty much the highlight of P-Day! After P-Day we met Bong Muay and Bong Sophia our RC's! Muay knows really good english so usually we teach her like half in english half in Khmer haha. It's kind of weird but pretty fun! She is awesome and super super strong! Sophia is doing good as well, she is having a hard time right now though because her older sister has gone completely back to Buddhism...her name is Bora... it's super sad because she was only baptized about 5 months ago.... but we really want to try to reactivate her!
Krispy Kreme in Cambodia!

Tuesday:

I don't really remember what we did on Tuesday because I forgot my journal, but we saw Ming Ponluu in the morning and sang "The Lord is my Light" with her and then talked a little bit about missionary work and committed her to share her light. Then after we saw Om Gia, this old Om who we thought wanted the missionaries to come see her, but she politely told us "Sisters if you didn't come see me I wouldn't be angry or disappointed, I would thank you..." She went on and on about how she is already so strong... well guess who didn't come to church this week?! Haha I was like come on! It made me want to go see her everyday... haha nah it's all good! As long as she keeps growing that's all that matters. Then we had a BM meeting with Lookpuu On who is so awesome! He knows everyone in ward! Seriously we just went through all the CBR's and he told us about every single member! It was great! Yeah also I don't know how but Sister Lines and I both got a little sick this week... it's so strange having a cold in Cambodia... and the worst part is I started loosing my voice. Our last lesson of the night we went and saw Ming Ruet an active member and I couldn't talk like at all! Ming Ruet is awesome though she has been a member for more then 20 years. She was telling us that when it's gets harder, she doesn't give up on faith, that's when she clings to the gospel. Ming Ruet recycles garbage for a job, and you would think living like that she would be bitter and upset at the world, but I have never met someone as happy and faithful as she is. Right now she is only of the only active members of her family, so we want to try to help them all come back!

Wednesday:

I woke up and my voice was terrible, it was cracking and breaking, and occasionally not coming out at all. Plus I just felt sick... then we went and taught lessons and it was a little rough... haha it was so frustrating because I felt good enough to go out, but my voice was gone... how am i supposed to be Khmer without a voice. We went and saw Ming Pholla and Ming Jenny both LA's when we saw Ming Jenny we shared Ether 12:27 with her, and she just burst into tears. She has been really sick lately and when we shared that she just broke down. Her entire family is less active, but they want to start coming again. We invited her daughter to come to english class, so now that's happening which is so good!

After that Sister Lines told me she was feeling under the weather as well, and when we went back to the house she crashed... dang colds...I just did some CBR work and stuff, haha I get a little stir crazy at the house not going to lie! It's all good though! Now we are both feeling a lot better!
It's hard to talk on the phone.

Thursday:

We got a random call from one of our RC's saying she was having a really hard time... She told us that she really needed to talk to us.... anyways we shared a scripture with her the "Peace to thy Soul" one. She said it was really what she needed at that time! After her we went and saw Om Nie, who has been to church two weeks in a row now :) and Ming Sochetha.
Old Friends from TTP

Friday:

Exchanged with Sister Larson! I love her so much! I learned so so much from her! I've only been waiting like 7 months to be her comp! It was so good! She helped me so much. We went around and she showed me houses. We met with an LA, and our goal for the day was to find unplanned service opportunity, and just turns out that she needed help cleaning her house and organizing her medicine so we were able to help her! God is just so good. If you really want something he will help you accomplish it. Then we went to Ghost Village, and taught an old investigator Srei Mao.The area is literally in a graveyard... like there houses are surrounded by tombstone and graves.. the call it ghost village.. some missionaries don't go there because it freaks them out! It's a good thing the Schwab Mortuary prepared me for this haha! Srei Mao is really good she just hasn't gone to church! Which we need to make happen! After that we taught Muay again and committed her to sharing the gospel, we gave her a pamphlet and she is going to pray about who the Lord wants her to give it to!

Saturday:

We went with Lookpuu and he took us around to houses. He told me that I sound exactly like his little Sister on the phone, and that I remember him of her. Lookpuu On is awesome he has been to America before and been to the Salt Lake and Jordan temple! His little sister also lives in America. He really wants to go visit her again! Anyways after that we went and saw Om Parri, and then we had a Youth Activity. We shared a lesson, and talked about Ether 12:27 and we all went around and talked about weaknesses we have and how through the atonement we can strengthen them! It was awesome a really good lesson!

Sunday:

Okay we went to lunch with Sony she is one of the young women in our ward. We went and had lunch at her house and after lunch asked if we could share a message with them. Sony is the only member in her family. She lives with her cousin and her sister. We talked to them about prayer and the power of it. After sharing with them we asked Sony's sister to give the closing prayer, and she did! One of my favorite moments as a missionary is seeing people take that huge loop of faith and pray for the first time! After she was finished Sony just started to cry and said how thankful she was for today, and that she has been praying for her family to receive the gospel for a long time now! It was so so amazing!

So now for the awkward moment of the week... we were teaching Srei Rean and heres one for you i wanted to ask an investigator if she had her marriage certificate done already and instead of that i asked her if she had porn... the words are so similar. . .  she gave me the funniest look and then I realized what I said and my member present looked at me and we just died laughing. It's all good don't worry! She is still golden and doing awesome! yeah the struggles sometimes haha!
Church was good!

Well that was pretty much it for this week! I hope you all have a great week I love you all so much!!! Have a great summer!

SURPRISE Transfer...again, and when you speak like you are from Siem Reap...

Hello Everyone!

Monday:

I had to say good bye, a lot... and it was hard! I really do try not to cry, but it's hard when you have to leave your family again! Then you just worry about them when you are gone! Like they better make good decisions, and stay with the gospel! I have had so much fun in Siem Reap it has been so good. I love it here so much!! Plus I love my comp! Sister Chanthakhoun, she's the best! First kid from America! Love her it's been awesome to see her improve! After saying some goodbyes we went to FHE at Ming Mao's house. Who I love as well! It was great, we ate dinner together and then read scriptures together! They have a really strong family! I really excited for them, I think in a couple of years they could be sealed in the temple! So EXCITING!
Saying Goodbyes

FHE

I love love love love these people!

Tuesday:
Consisted of more goodbyes, and a long bus ride to the city....

Oh yeah while we were on our way to the city I got a phone call from President " we have a change in your assignment... you are not serving in Kean Svaaay, you and Sister Lines will be serving in Chamkarmorn which means we are whitewashing... haha whitewashing again!? Not going to lie I was a little nervous when he said that... whitewashing is always so rough the first week... It's all good though... I will go where the Lord wants me to go!

Wednesday:

Sister Clark took us around the area real quick... haha yeah those quick go arounds are helpful but sometimes they just make you a little more overwhelmed than before! Haha oh the joys of whitewashing. Anyways we just went to the house and got everything ready! Then we went to English class! We taught intermmedaite class. It was really good, we met two of our investigators there. They seem really great! We had like 30 students! Also it was so good to see old students/members from TTP! I had missed those guys!
My favorite Student is still coming, and my new companion!

Thursday:

Weekly planning is so rough when you are whitewashing! It was good though in the afternoon we went out and tried to find houses. We found lots of houses but most of the members weren't home. We saw Om Nae. I met her once before on an exchgange with Sister Larson. When I saw her, she was like HEY WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! Haha she was really excited! She has been Less Active because she has been sick lately... and wow she is taking a lot of medicine for it... like way too much I think... So we shared Ether12:27 with her and told her. That those pills and everything can only do so much what she needs to do it put her trust in God and go back to church because that is where she is going to find real strength! It was really good... and she came to church on Sunday! It's been a really long time like 4 months since she has gone to church! I was so excited she came! Then we saw Ming Ruet who is an active member, but the rest of her family are LA's. She told us about a miracle in her life. She wanted to go to conference but she didn't have enough money to get a moto ride, but she had a feeling that God would take care of it, so she got a moto ride there and back, and then when she asked him how much it was. He looked at her and just said don't worry about it! He didn't want any money and she had never met the man before! So awesome I love how the Lord is so in charge! Then we met with Nada an investigator who is awesome! We committed her to be baptized next month, and she is already in 1 Nephi chapter 20! I am not kidding you she is amazing!
I have missed her!

Friday:

We saw two RC's Yiay Sem and Thida, Thida is like 10 years old and so so cute! She is super smart as well. They are a great family! We talked to them about miracles as well. Then we had a huge rain storm! We got to the church for a meeting and we were soaking... literally we left puddles... haha raining season is coming! Wahoo! Then after the meeting we met Ming Ponluu she is a RC! Oh my goodness she is so good. We shared a scripture with her and she told us about how she was preparing to be baptized but it was hard for her to give up tea and she ended up drinking some... when she drank it she got super sick, and the sisters came over.. and she felt like she was going to throw up the entire time... she was like after that I never wanted to drink it again.. She told us she knew that that was God's way of telling her not to drink it! So awesome! God is so good.

Saturday:

We did some serious house hunting! We found over 15ish houses if not more... we didn't get to meet with everyone but we did find the houses and that is the start. We ended up meeting with Ming Sochetha's family.. and they just flat out told me... they were like you don't speak clear like you are from the city... did you just come from a kite... yes... yes I did! Darn it Siem Reap I was afraid some of that would rub off on me haha! All well it is what it is... they can understand me it's just I sound like I am from a kite. Then we saw Nada again at the church and taught her the 10 commandments which she agreed to follow! She is golden!

Sunday:

Our church is at 3, so we had time in the morning to meet some members. We saw Om Chea at first. She is good. She is really old... in her 70s. She is a good active member.. we just shared with her about faith. After that we saw a investigator at the church. Her name is Srei Rain. We didn't really know what to share with her so we talked about the atonement. She is 24 years old and has one son. She told us she just wants to live with her family for eternity. She also asked tons of good questions like " did christ even suffer for the wicked people" Why is our church different from the others "how can we use the atonement in our lives" I was amazing! She is really good! I am excited to meet her again! We committed her to baptism for the end of next month! It's crazy being back in the city, but I feel like we can have some success in this area! I am really excited to met the members and help those LA's coming back! Church was good! Our Gospel Principles teacher was AWESOME! I felt spiritually ready to go after her lesson about repentance. She is a return missionary and she is so so good! I am not kidding you! Plus our investigator was way into it!

Other then that nothing else really happened just house hunting.. it's like easter everyday really! But I love my new comp! Sister Lines is awesome, and so full of love for the gospel! Can't wait to serve with her! We are going to have so many miracles! I love you all and you are all in my prayers! HAVE A GOOD SUMMER!!! Love ya!

Transfer calls already..... WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?

Hello Everyone!!

Sunday (of last week):

Really don't have too much to tell ya, just that Ming Saron, and Srei Mao got baptized! Wahoo! It was good. They both got up and shared the sweetest testimonies! They were literally like 20 seconds each! They were both super nervous. Ahh I love them both so much, it's was so cool to seem them enter into the waters of baptism. They have worked really hard for it! It's amazing seeing them start of the path that will lead them to eternal life with their families! We also went to the Elders baptism... they had 7 people get baptized :) It was a really good week here in Siem Reap! Couldn't do it without the Lords help!

Monday:

I got to skype you guys! I love you so much! It was so good to see you and hear your voices. It literally felt like 10 minutes... but that is okay... Again mom Happy Mother's Day! Crazy to think that next phone call I will be home like a month later... what the... did I ever mention that I hate how fast time goes here...haha i mean it's good but it can slow down just a little. After skyping we went to Ankgor for the last time before transfers. It was super fun... but oh my goodness it was so hot! It get's super hot during the day and then at night is gets super windy and randomly rains. then after that we went and did service at Ming Sogetha's house. We just helped clean her house and build some stuff for her garden.

Tuesday:

We went and saw Ming Saron and talked to her about the family booklet and family history book. She really wants to go to the temple! She is just worried because she doesn't have any money... but we testified that if she has the faith it will happen! Her husband and her granddaughter are also learning with us right now. I want to see them sealed in the temple so badly! Also I just have the feeling that a lot of her ancestors are waiting for her to get their work done! It's so amazing, the gospel is just amazing. So another cool story... we went to her house and she had electricity like a fan and TV. The people that she is renting the land from decided to do it for her... I had the though come into my mind... it's because of her tithing! She has been paying tithing since the first time we taught her about it! Even though she literally doesn't have a lot... since the lord told her to do it... she just listened and did it. She is being blessed for it that's for sure. The Lord is just so good! The gospel is just so good! I love it and I love being part of this work.
We also saw On Polly's mom. She told us how she had been really sick... she went to the hospital in Cambodia and they gave her the wrong pills, so then she got really really sick and had to go to vietnam to the hospital. She has problems with her blood, and she is always really really pale... She told us she just needs to be very careful, and watch what she eats and exercise everyday and she should be okay... she is just worried about her kids... We started talking about Polly her 9 year old son and she just started crying and she is really worried about him because he is sick all of the time... Then I had the thought... "promise her that if she keeps following the commandments and setting that example for Polly he will serve a mission" The spirit was so strong when we said that... it was so strong! She was crying we were all crying....

Wednesday:

We went and did service at ming leenaa's house she is a less active... the Elders moved huge rocks, and we cleaned up the house which included sweeping up leaves. you would be surprised how much we do that here, and can I just say I had never been so sweaty in my life... all I was doing was sweeping up leaves haha, but let me just say her house did look a lot better after we swept all of those leaves up haha.
Then we went to Phoom Veal to go see members but we got rejected by like everyone so we just went and shared a scripture with Parri's family.
At night we had english class, did I tell you we are teaching an ABC class! It's so fun! I love it so much on wednesday we only had two students but then on saturday we had 12ish come! It's getting bigger and bigger! I love teaching it so much!

Thursday:

We went and saw Bong Thavery and shared Helamen 12:5 with her. She told us about the problems she is having with her family. She said people keep asking me why I am putting myself in these difficult situations, but I tell them that's where my family is. She was like they just tell me I should leave them so I wouldn't worry anymore, so that I could be happy. We told her " you have a goal to go to the temple right now with your family, and those people may tell you that leaving is what is going to make you happy because they don't know of the happiness of the gospel... families can be difficult sometimes that is for sure, but overcoming those problems and going to the temple that is where true happiness is... She seemed a lot better after our lesson! I can't wait for her family to go to the temple! We need that temple in Thailand ASAP!
Then we saw Bong Sokpeak she was having a really hard time as well but after we met her and shared D&C 6:21 with her she said she felt so much better! She just loves the spirit that we bring... she is surrounded by a lot of hardships, so it means a lot to her when we come and visit.

Friday:

We saw Parri and talker about prayer with her, we are going to have her practice for baptism so she isn't scared anymore. She should be getting baptized in 2 or 3 weeks! Then we saw ming Mao and watched the Faith in Christ video with her she loved it! She has been really sick lately... she has liver diease and it's been making her really weak... but she is just keeping going! I love her family so much! Bong Thavery came during the lesson and then we brought her over to teach Ming Saron with us. They hit it off it was awesome! Seriously they like loved each other right from the start! I love seeing invstigators gain that relationship with the members. After that we saw Polly and watch the restoration with him! Then we saw Bong Chentra, and they introduced us to Bong Pisay, she is having a super hard time right now. She just wants happiness in her life again... she has got such a light... I love her! She just needs happiness and the gospel has just that. We taught her about pray and gave her the Book of Mormon! I am way excited for her!

Saturday:

We went and saw Ming Sidon a less active that just came back! She is awesome, super strong! Then we went and saw Om nao who I promised I would go climb a mountain with when i got back... so that will be fun haha! then we saw Srei Mao. We taught her about the Priestood and the Gift of the Holy Ghost. She is doing really well, then we swung by Ming Sroh's place. She is also doing good! She wants us to make her a facebook so she can share the gospel to EVERYONE! We are currently showing her how to us an iPhone.

Sunday:

Srei mao and Ming Saron got confirmed! Wahoo! Also... Ly Heng got baptized wahoo!!! He has waited 1 and a half years! I was so happy for him! He is going to be a killer missionary!
