Coming up on the two month mark!

Hey family... well I can't believe it's already Monday.. I honestly have no idea where the time goes...

Oh so funny story,
So we were riding our bikes in Siem Reap and I was riding the Elder's bike, with the super high bar, and we were in this path in the forest and there was this huge puddle it was pretty much like a mini lake really. Well I go and try to go through it fast because it should work if I go fast right.. wrong... I got stuck and try to catch myself on the bike but my foot gets stuck so I end up cannon balling into this huge mud puddle Sister Rean about died laughing... she was like " I wouldn't have laughed but I heard you scream and then saw you flying in the air into the mud puddle. Haha oh the struggles :) also side note! I love Sister Rean she is a killer missionary and I love going on exchanges with her it's always a blast and I always learn so much from her.

Monday:

Nothing really too exciting we just headed out to BB for zone conference on Tuesday

Back in Seam Reap

Visiting old friends

Tuesday:

After zone conference (round 4) I went on an exchange with Sister Um. I've been waiting to go on an exchange with her since I was trainer Sister Kosal in transfer number 4! Sister Um is an awesome teacher! She is super straight forward, but in the most loving way... it's really a gift she has haha! Her quote "If she loves you she is going to tell you straight up what you need to change!" She and Sister Collins are seriously like a power duo that are going to make miracles happen in BB!
Our Jungle Hotel

Wednesday:

We drove out to Siem Reap and went to English class! It was great to see all of the members there they were all like "Wow Sister Schwab you haven't ended your mission yet?" Come on.... haha!

Thursday:

We went out and did exchanges with the Siem Reap Sisters. I went with Sister Rean it was nice because I was able to show her some houses in Branch 2. We went and saw Bong Mom's family with Parri our old investigator that never got baptized... well this was the first time Sister Rean met them, and Parri said that she wants to learn again, so the Sister's are reteaching her to prepare her for baptism! It was so good to see that family. Bong Mom is pregrent and due in December.. she said when I come and see her with my family she will have a new baby boy!

Lime tree

We taught them about reading the Book of Mormon as a family and the power that comes from it. The committed to having family home evening and reading together as a family. Hopefully this will get them to start coming to church again!

Road trip

I saw Ming Saron!!!! She was so excited to see me and I was super excited, Sister Rean keep on laughing at me because I was biking super fast and couldn't control my excitement! It was so good to see and she was for sure surprised haha! She was like wow I thought you weren't coming back until December! Ahh I love her so much! We actually ended up teaching her husband who has a baptismal date for December! it amazing to see how much Ming has grow in her testimony... she shared with me the scripture she is going to share in fast and testimony meeting! And it's amazing to see how the Lord has blessed her. The people that she rents the land from rebuilt her house so that it could make it through the rainy season, and in the new house she has a huge picture of the temple... Honestly the gospel is amazing! Miracles never cease for those that have faith!

We had lunch at her house and then had to say goodbye again... it was a lot easier this time because I will get to see her in two month with you guys :)
Sunrise in SR

Friday:

Zone conference round 5!

Saturday:

Open house in KC! they are dedicating a new building out there and for the first session over 700 people came! It's so amazing to see the church grow here in Cambodia!
Church open house

Sunday:

Baptism for Sophia! The baptism was great! Her daughter ended up coming and this was the first time I even met her daughter. We waited 15 minutes just for her daughter to come, but let me tell ya it was worth it! We had the program and it was great. After Bong Sophia was baptized she honestly was just glowing. She just talked about how happy and good she felt... In all of my 3 months of teaching her I have never seen her as happy as she was that day. She was just glowing..

After the baptism we went to FHE with Om Sokha's family... they are all super sick and have colds... but they all came to church! After Om saw the baptism she got super excited for hers and kept asking when she was getting baptized! Ahh! Miracles I am telling ya! this family has changed so much since we have gotten here, it's amazing to see the miracles that can happen when a family goes to church and study the scriptures together. It really does have power! We shared Mormon 9:19-21 with them and shared about miracles!

The Gospel is about looking forward

Alright so we are leaving early to head out the the Khets for zone conference today! We will be out in the Khets until Saturday, and then we will head back early to the city for a baptism on Sunday! Bong Sophia she will be getting baptized this coming Sunday!

Monday:

We went with Sister Semones and celebrated her gotcha day aka the day that she was adopted! Shoutout to Sister Semones! I am super grateful that her mom raised such an awesome girl! I learned so much from Sister Semones when I was her comp, she is literally one of the hardest workers I know and she has an amazing testimony of the gospel! She is truly amazing! We went out and had Chinese food with her to celebrate... turns out Chinese and Khmer food, yeah kind of the same haha! Then after that we just got things ready for zone conference!
Sister Semones Gotcha Day!

Tuesday:

Zone conference round 1 with North Stake it was good haha the first one is always the worst out the the 5 that we do. It's alright North Stake is awesome anyways they were good gini-pigs ... I don't remember how to spell that. After zone conference we came home and fixed our section of zone conference and then we went out and taught Bong Sophia about tithing. She was very willing to pay it... she is amazing and super ready to be baptized... it's crazy because we have been super busy so she has literally been waiting on us... so we decided we were going to see her at least four times this week so she could receive baptism on the 23rd. Bong Nih on the other hand has been super busy lately so she will have to wait two or three weeks to be baptized. It's okay though Bong Sophia is going to set a great example for her, and I know when she sees the growth that Bong Sophia is making will inspire Bong Nih even more.

Wednesday:

Zone conference round 2 a lot better then the first time that is for sure but we still felt like something was missing and we couldn't put our finger on it. We taught Bong Sophia about the priestood!
Then we had English class... also I got a goodbye gift on Wednesday from a member in TTP... I was like why so early and she said I was afraid because I don't see you anymore... I was like haha I still have like 2 1/2 months left!

Thurs:

Zone conference round 3, so the morning before this one we met with Sister Christensen and President Christensen and they gave us some ideas for teaching! Literally and answer to our prayers so we switched everything around and fixed it up and it was so much better! We are teaching about planning for zone conference! I will explain kind of what we did next week :) because we have two more zone conferences to go.

After zone conference we got everything ready for training the trainers for friday and then we taught Bong Sophia about Eternal Marriage!

Friday:

We trained the trainers and the new missionaries! The new missionaries are amazing! Honestly the Viet missionaries that came in they are going to make miracles happen I am telling ya! The have a fire and testimony that is going to make such a difference here! I love it!

Saturday:

We just taught like normal missionaries and it was awesome! In the morning we saw Ming Savon and taught her about the Book of Mormon we are trying to get her to start reading it again. We shared 2 Nephi 29:8-10 with her. Then we saw Om Sokha and taught her about tithing... she was super tired again and pretty much dozed off during the lesson for about 2 seconds and then when she came back she just laughed and said wow I am so sorry... I guess she is taking cold medicine that makes her super tired, but she is doing well! and progressing, she promised to pay tithing, and come to church! Then we saw Chadean, Lena, and Thera and taught them about the POS it was really good. I love teaching about the POS... it's such a neat experience teaching someone who they really are and about God's plan, and the potential they have there is really nothing like like! It's amazing! After that we saw Bong Sophia and prepped her for her baptism interview!  I can't wait to see her come out from that water cleansed from her sins and get to start a new life... one of my favorite things about the gospel is that you are always looking forward and never back! It's doesn't matter where you are at right now, all that matters is that you are improving.

Sunday:

Bong Sophia had her baptism interview, and she passes so she will be getting baptized next Sunday :) Church was great, after church we had a meeting with President to get this coming week all figured out. We will be out in the Khets all week. After the meeting we had FHE with Om Sokha's family... it's been so great to see them grow, now they are all coming to church together and we are helping them start doing FHE every Sunday! They are changing and becoming closer and it really is amazing to see!

Well that's pretty much it for this week, sounds like you had a fun week! I love you all!

Phillippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.

I have been studying a lot about grace this week, and I am really grateful for the enabling power of the atonement in our lives. I am grateful that Christ didn't only come here to die for us but also to suffer for us so that through him and his atonement we can be strengthened to do be better and do things that are far beyond our capacity to do. I have seen his help here in the lives of the people of Cambodia. I have wondered how they overcome their trials and hardships, I have wondered how they can be in the most difficult situations and still be happy... but now it makes sense to me. It's the atonement it's that grace that we receive every single day. That's was gets us through. I know that it's true our pain and suffering really can be swallowed up in the joy of the Savior. I love this gospel! I love sharing it!

Well I love you all so much!

Love

Last Conference in the Mission

Hello Everyone!

Tuesday:

We got everything ready for the new missionaries coming in we have 4 viets and 4 khmer missionaries coming in SUPER EXCITING!
My Planner this month in honor of the SV Temple

My Comp is awesome

Then we had MLC aka Missionary Leadership Council. The best part of the meeting is always Presidents when he teaches his doctrine! He talked about the attributes of a good missionary! It was so good!

Wednesday:

So today we had transfers so you know always craziness at the mission home! Super fun though, we had a training the new trainers meeting, and then we get a call.... and turns out the new missionaries passports had problems so they ended up having to wait a few days until they came in. Which it was a crazy morning, and then we went home did our studies and came back to say goodbye to the amazing sister Dao, shout out she is literally one of my favorite people ever I love her so much! Well President called us in and told us that on Thursday we have a train the kids and their trainers meeting, and nobody was going to be there in the morning so it was all us, so we spent the rest of the day getting everything ready for that. Then we went off to English class.

Thursday:

We trained the trainers and their kids and then we went and got them bikes :) We love that bike store I'm telling ya haha then we had a meeting to prepare for zone conference!

Friday:

In the morning we had zone training and then we went TEACHING! First off we saw Om Soka and taught her about the 10 commandments. She agreed to follow them and she promised us that she would go to general conference this Sunday.
My Mission Grandma

Then we saw Bong Saophia and taught her about conference and bringing questions that she had. I told her about when I was trying to decide if I wanted to go on a mission or not and then I watched Elder Bednar's talk. In that talk he talked about missionary work, and how when we have something that helps us or something that we love we just get the desire to share it, and that was exactly how I felt! I love the gospel so much, and I can't imagine what my life would be like without it... so I had to share it! The taught was called "come and see" and to this day it is one of my favorite talks ever... just because it gave me that every push to go on a mission.
I love her so much!

Saturday:

CONFERENCE
Then I went out with Sister Chiill a new missionary... she was having a hard time and feeling a little homesick so we decided to go out teaching because what better medicine is there then teaching? We saw Ming Savon an LA and taught her about conference.... she wouldn't commit to go, I was like Ming God is trying to tell you something through the mouths of his servants and if you don't go you are pretty much telling God that you don't care what he has to say.... after I said that she said she would go... (for the record she didn't go ahh!!)

Then we went contacting and Sister Chiil contacted someone that wanted to learn, I was so excited for her, and the joy that was on her face was the best. You know it's amazing God knows when we are having hard times, and when we endure it and push through he always gives us little miracles! I love it!

Sunday:

CONFERENCE Round 2
I am super sad that I had my last conference in the mission... no going to lie there may have been some tears shed. I am just so grateful that I am lucky enough to be out here surrounded by so many amazing people and I get to testify on my Savior every single day! I still think back to the time where I was trying to decide if I should go or not... I can't believe that it was even a hard decision it should have been easy... of course I should go on a mission. The Savior has given me so much of course I can give a little back!

After conference we had FHE with Om Soka's family and we shared about prayer!
Well that was my week! I love hearing about all of the temple stuff it looks amazing, and I can't wait to go through with all of you guys! It gives me chills thinking about it! I love all of you so much! I am doing great! Dad happy 50th b-day this week! haha :)

Love you,
Sister Schwab
