Guess what. . . I have four months left

Hello Everyone!

Monday:

We ended up going to the Royal Palace for P-day, and then after we just went and got stuff ready for the new missionaries coming in, and the mini missionaries that are leaving.

Royal Palace

Tuesday:

So Tuesday morning we ended up helping Sister Nit get ready to go to the airport and fly to America! She got her visa on Monday and then they told her that she would be leaving on Tuesday... crazy how fast that came around. I am so excited for her though she is going to kill it in America. So in the morning we helped her get everything ready and then sent her off to the airport. We waited with her until she got all checked in! It's so crazy she is going to America, she is going to make such a difference down there though, I went on one exchange with her for like 6 hours and I knew she was amazing, so look out everyone because Sister Nit is coming to America!
Taking this Sister to the airport so she can serve in the USA

Then after that the Levitt's were kind enough to take us to lunch... have I mentioned how much I love the Levitts :)

After that we went and taught Ming Savon, an LA that we meet. She works in a hospital. So she is really good and has a strong testimony of the Bible, but she has pretty much forgotten all about the Book of Mormon, and she goes to a different church.... One thing that really hit me though when we were teaching was when she was talking about the missionary that taught her, they showed us pictures of her at a watt with her Buddhist husband, and she told the members, yeah whatever any church is a good church".... No!! The thing that really hit me was how much of an effect her example had on her investigators... they are less actives now and going to a different church because you know any church is a good church... ahhh.... why?! It just made me realize that when you are done with your mission you not only need to keep enduring and following the commandments for yourself, but for all the people that we've met and taught on our missions... we owe it to them, and our example has a huge effect on them! They are still going to look up to the people that taught them even years after.... It just was a good reminder I guess... for me haha!

After that we had a meeting to get ready for the mini missionaries and transfers.
Matching with Daughter

Wednesday:

We ended up calling all of the mini missionaries and making sure that they had a way home... it pretty much took the whole morning!

Then in the afternoon we went to a mini missionary devotional where all of the mini missionaries got to stand up and bare their testimonies. It was awesome to hear their testimonies... I translated for the Jones, who are our Family History senior couple. Most of the mini missionaries talked a lot about how the mission was super hard...and they wanted to go home the first 3 days... but after the two weeks was over they wanted to stay and keep going they didn't want to go home at all.... It was a neat experience to see how much they had grown in such a short amount of time, they best part was that most of the missionaries talked about how they know for sure that they want to serve a full time mission after this! I love it!
English Class :)

Thursday:

NEW MISSIONARIES ALL FRESH FROM AMERICA!!! Way awesome in the morning we had a meeting with the trainers and then we went and picked up their kids at the airport! They look like a good group of missionaries! I am so excited for them they just started the hardest most rewarding two years of their lives... it's so good I love it! Plus it's about time we get some fresh people in here! It's true those new missionaries fresh from the MTC have a light and because of that light and desire they have... their are going to be some serious miracles that happen!

New missionaries

We are so excited for the new missionaries

Other then that we just chilled at the bike store all day and got the new missionaries their bikes :) We really love that bike store.... haha... yeah....
Always at the bike store

After the successful transfer day we decided we needed to reward ourselves with Cold Stone! Bet you didn't know they had that in Cambodia... haha it's pretty new, and just opened a month or two ago.

Friday:

We saw Bong Sophiap, and taught her lesson 1, it was kind of a long lesson because her daughter was screaming bloody murder because you tube wouldn't work and she couldn't watch Johnny... haha we literally had to wait 4 minutes to give the closing prayer lucky youtube came back on, but then... half way through it stopped so have way through the prayer she started screaming again haha... oh the struggles...

Then we saw Om Siat and taught her about prophets... she is working on fixing her house right now... she is still struggling but honestly she is still one of the most faithful people I know... she won't give up hope... and instead of pushing away during her trials she is rely on God more then ever.
Then we saw Om Soka an investigator of ours... she was super tired when we saw her she sells until like 3 in the morning every night... so she gets really tired.. we were teaching her Lesson 2 and she almost fell asleep like 3 times... bless her heart.... she is really good... it's just hard for her right now, but she really does have faith, which is the first step! After teaching we helped her get her vegetables ready to sell, side note... I still suck at cutting vegetables... and they will let you know too, Om literally showed me three different ways to do it because i was so bad at it haha.

Then we saw Om He a LA and taught her about Family History work, which she has actually already started on she said that she couldn't remember about her parents and then she prayed and suddenly she remembered the dates they died, and when they were born... the miracles just keep coming... I know Heavenly Father is leading this work.

Saturday:

We ended up going down to Orang Ov with the Ministry of Environment to do a service project. We went to a school out in the khets, and helped them plant trees, more than 200 trees were planted, and after the planting of trees, the ministry taught the students how to stay healthy. They taught them about brushing their teeth and disposing of trash... The kids loved it!

Then on the car ride home a man rode with us his name was Rekseme. He was one of the volunteers that came with us to the service project... well Sister Ormax and I ended up talking about the Book of Mormon with him, he had lots of questions so we were able to testify about the restoration, priesthood, and he even asked about baptism... so we taught him about that.. by the time he left the car, he had a book of mormon, a pamphlet, and we had his number to give to the Elders in Pochentong. He was really interested in learning!

Then we saw Om Giang our investigator... we taught her about Family History, and she got super defensive and wouldn't do it.... she would write in the book at all... so her family is from China and her husband believes in the chinease religion... I guess they believe that if you do anything with ancestors then you will be cursed.... plus she said right now she doesn't have agency to do it.. her husband wouldn't let her.... she said she has faith, but she can't do anything because she has no agency... it was super sad... then I realized that Mulan... the movie... all those jokes about ancestors... yeah that's a real thing... don't ask me why that popped into my head haha... it was random.... yeah it was upsetting tho... so we just testified of the Savior and that through the atonement anyone can change even her husband.

After that we saw Ming Nih, and Ming Sophia investigators... we just talk them lesson 1... but it was one of those lessons when it makes you realize how much I love teaching and being out here and being a missionary... It also just testifies to me again that this church is true.... when we gave the Joseph Smith first vision the spirit was so strong... and everyone felt it.... I just love it... I love this gospel and church, and I know that it is true, I have no doubts!

3D World and Office Duties

Hello Everyone!

Monday:

3D world and meeting with President Christensen, just trying to get everything ready for those new missionaries aka kids coming in!
My New Companion, we have the same Mom

Tuesday:

Meeting with Sister Christensen we just are trying to get things ready for those new missionaries honestly we talked mostly about ways to keep them healthy. We have had so many missionaries sick nowadays so we are going to try and keep these new ones healthy. I love meeting with Sister Christensen and President, they really doing love all of the missionaries here, and everything they do it for the welfare of the mission.

After that we went to the bike store and got started on working on getting all the sisters bikes before the new ones come down... it usually takes about 3-4 hours a trip... anyways after a couple hours at the bike store we went and taught our RC Chadaen. She is really good, and got baptized about two months ago. We taught her about the LOC and WOW and you know it was actually a really good lesson the spirit was there!

I thought Tyler would like this one.

Wednesday:

Bike store in the morning, meeting with the Elders, Bike store again, and then ENGLISH class haha I really do love english class!

Thursday :

We interviewed Saarat, and she helped us to know how to clean our food so that we can all stay healthy here in Cambodia! It was some good stuff, stuff that I wish I knew earlier in the mission... hey but I am for sure going to apply it these last 4 months... ahh 4 months... did I mention how much I hate how fast the mission is going! Then we went and saw Om Siat an RC of ours, so we came and she had shaved her head... in the Buddhist religion you do that to show your faith, when she told us she did it to show her faith in Christ... well... it's the thought that counts right... I love her though. She really does have a lot of faith, and right now she is having a really hard time with families and neighbors, but she still endures. She is like the ultimate missionary, like 4 of our investigators right now are referrals from her! We shared DC 58:2-4 with her about enduring to the end. She loved it, and then started to cry.... We testified of the Savior and of the enabling power of the atonement, I know that he is right there with her and going to help her through this!

BIKE STORE

Then we did some weekly planning until 9 o clock at night... doing weekly planning at night is a poor choice haha

Friday:

Meeting in the morning and then after we worked on stuff for the new missionaries.
then we went and saw Pisey, her family is moving to KC this week. So it was the last time we got to see her... She is so good, and we just reminding her about baptismal covenants she has made, which let to other things and then we committed her to helping her family get sealed in the temple. right now her family is relying on her testimony, and they need her to stay strong! She committed to doing it, and she has the desire to serve a mission. She is so good! I am kind of sad that she is leaving! It's all good though she is going to help the youth out there in KC.

Then we saw Saophia she is still super sick... we shared the 10 commandments with her, and then after we saw Mong Mon an investigator. She is a security guard for a club... she is pretty good though... we just have to get her coming to church and reading her scriptures that's all. We shared Helaman 3:29 with her and she promised to start reading everyday.

Then we saw Bong Nih and Bong Sophia. They are both investigators we shared in Alma 32 with them about faith! They loved it we talked about how right now maybe their faith is only a seed but it's going to keep growing into a tree, if they just keep studying and taking care of it!

Saturday:

English class, then we cleaned the church, worked on new missionary stuff, and then we went and saw Om Sok and Om Sang, two active members and taught them about charity.

Sunday:

We saw Om Kiang and her husband, her husband actually listened to us this time. We finished up teaching about the plan of salvation. When we got to the part about the celestial kingdom I asked her which kingdom she wanted to go to and she said the celestial, but she know that she can't... then we cut her off and said "yes you can, and do you want to know why you can? Because of your brother our Savior Jesus Christ, you can live with your family forever, and God forever because of the Savior. "Lookpuu looked up and said so I can live with my wife again, and we told him yes... and he just kept on thanking God... it was a big change from last week that's for sure! It's amazing to see his heart soften little by little. Then we went to church.

After church we met Linaa, and Lisa and shared about miracles with them!

Well that was my week! Thanks for the package tell Grandma to get better soon, and tell everyone good luck with school!!! Can't believe summer is already over for you!!! WOW crazy....
Well I love you all so so much! have a great week!

What a week...

Hello Everybody! There is a virus on my camera, so I can't send pictures this week. Just the cultural ones we already took.

Monday:

Nothing really too exciting on Monday, just moving into the new house, and a meeting with the president. We are just trying to figure things out that's all. Thankfully we had Sister Larsen and Sister Sheffield there to help us... Honestly I am so grateful for them! They make whitewashing a little bit easier haha! Without them I don't know what we would do haha...

Tuesday:

We had District meeting we shared about some of the things we have learned on the mission and some things we want to continue to learn. Thinking about it honestly for me one of the things I have learned is that the enabling power of the atonement... aka grace is real. Here in Cambodia I see people in the worst situations but they are still incredibly happy and able to make it through and endure no matter what. I always wondered how the do it? How are they so happy? It's because they aren't doing it on their own the Savior is helping them every single step of the way! Honestly I know that even if we are in the worst of situations if we have a testimony of the Savior it will be okay... we can make it through anything. He is going to help us, I see it everyday here... The Savior's hand really is in our lives!

Then we went and taught English at the Ministry, which we do once a week. It's a service thing that we are doing for the government! It was awesome! I loved it! Teaching English has honestly become one of my favorite things out here on the mish, and at the beginning I used to hate it haha! But it's actually pretty fun!

Then they had a huge ceremony at the ministry that we were invited to attend, it was all about the opening of our English class, and the prime minister came and spoke about what an amazing opportunity this was for them to learn from us! It was super awesome!

After that I went out teaching with Sister Larsen she is helping us skoal the area a little bit! First we went and saw Lena she is a RC, and we just talked about the Book of Mormon with her! Then we went and taught Pisey and her family they are also RC's. We just taught them how to use the scriptures... Pisey had a talk on prayer so we just taught her how to prepare it. Then we went to the mission home and tried to get stuff ready for the mini missionaries until like 9:00 at night! It was crazy!

Wednesday:

Transfers and Mini missionaries! Such an awesome experience to see all these mini missionaries come from everywhere. I love it they have such a desire to serve! There were a lot of Sister's that came out I am so excited that they have the chance to serve for 2 weeks such a neat chance for them! Plus they have the best trainers ever! Seriously! We spent the morning in meetings and helping everyone get with their new companions!
Then we had english class!

Thursday:

Sister Larsen showed us around the area again...can I just say how much I love her! Seriously she has helped me so much throughout my entire mish... I don't know what I would have done without her help... Ever since my third transfer she has been helping me! She is one of the best missionaries out there... after she showed us around we dropped her off at the mission home and said goodbye! She is heading back to America! It was hard to say goodbye.. haha goodbyes are the worst and I suck at them, but it's all good because I will see her again before i know it because, as sad as it is .. mission's go by super fast!

Friday:

We went and saw our investigator name Om Giang... they are Chinese but speaking pretty good Cambodian, but with a thick accent and they use grammar wrong so sometimes I get super confused haha Om Giang is awesome she has already excepted the gospel, her husband on the other hand is a strong Buddhist, and she just went off and off. We taught lesson 2 and they were having a hard time understanding me... oh the struggles of a foreign language, but the Puu went off about how Christ wouldn't help us and how we are on our own, then Om Giang looked at her husband and said I don't believe that... God will help us. Then i had the thought to just testify about the atonement and read in Alma... so I cut off the Puu and said hey Puu do you know what this is (pointing to the scriptures) he was like yeah the best words are in the scriptures, then i said Puu this is the word of God. This is God's way of talking to us, and his way of telling us that he sent he son here to die for us, so I know that we aren't alone. Then we all read in alma together about the atonement... it was an interesting lesson to say the least but when we bore our testimonies about the Savior and the spirit was there! Nothing brings the spirit more then scriptures and testimony!

Saturday:

English Class, and skoaling members! Just figuring out the area and stuff!

Sunday:

Getting lost, and skoaling more people! Church was pretty good... we are for sure going to try to teach the Relief Society about love and uniting though, because they were lacking quite a bit of it on Sunday.... haha it's all good! Sister Ormax and I are super excited to try to help this area! We have lots of work to do but it's going to be fun!

Love you all hope you have a good week!!!! Kill it this weekend Sethy love ya!!

Welcome to the Office

Alright so I forgot my journal so this isn't going to be the best letter... so sorry everyone...

Monday:

We saw Sophia and shared Alma 18:6 with her about repentance... it was good! I love that scripture because I think it describes it perfect... it's like light peeling away the darkness from our eyes. Repentance gives us hope and happiness... it's gives us light!
Cultural Pictures

English Class

Then we saw Muoy and read Alma 25:26-the end of the chapter with her. We talked about missions and the son's of Mosiah and their examples. She told us that every single time she thinks about missions "she is filled with the holy spirit" and she just wants to go right now! She is going to talk to the Branch President and get those mission papers started! I am praying she will be going to SV! It was cool though, we talked about how much she has changed since we got there. Before she was super nervous to give talk and share the gospel, but now she literally stood in front of 100 or more english students giving a talk, and she helps us pretty much every single day! She so amazing to see how much she has grown!
She got locked in

Tuesday:

Well Sister Semones was feeling a little bit under the weather today, as was Sister Xiong so I went out with my kiddos... i went out with Sister Chanthakhoun and Sister Lines. We went and taught Ming Ponluu about the priesthood. It was so cool to teach with Sister Lines and Sister C, they have improved so much... I know the Lord has been helping them, they have both come to be amazing teachers.

After Ming Ponluu we taught Srei Leak and all we did was watch the Restoration and then have a mini testimony meeting... it was so good though. Nothing brings the spirit like some pure testimony.
After that I ended up staying home with Sister Xiong... I did pace the house a lot... I have no idea what I am going to do when I get home... I can't just sit and do nothing haha... I think I am turning into dad!

Companion

Kid

Wednesday:

We went out to Thida's house and read the Book of Mormon with her... those have become some of my favorite lessons... I seriously just love reading the Book of Mormon with people.
Then we met up with our investigator, and taught her some of lesson 1. She has a sickness where she faints and passes out a lot and has a really hard time remembering, BUT she is really trying and she has progressed a lot! It's bong Hiean. The one I contacted about 2 weeks ago. She is working hard, and she is now praying continually, plus she loves coming to church and comes to all three hours! We are going to keep working with her! Then we went out and saw Om Nye... we taught her about gratitude she is still pretty sick, but she really really likes it when we come and visit her! We read Alma 37:36-37 with her.

Then we had our english class and I gave the spiritual thought about the Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, I had Nada stand up and bare her testimony about it! After the lesson we gave out 4 books! :)
Sister Semones

He graduated from English class!

Thursday:

We read in 3 Nephi 11:3-17 with her. It was really good, we are trying to strengthen her testimony of the resurrection right now. When we read it she said " I like it, I feel like Heavenly Father is telling me "Srei Leak the Resurrection is true, just have faith and believe! " It was awesome and i think it really helped her.. I am telling you just reading out of the BOM it has power!

Then we went and got Sister Semones a new bike... so here is the funny thing on the way back we were on our way to a lesson and me and Sister Lines sort of got into a wreck, sadly enough it was our fault we literally just connected handle bars, and then she fell super hard I didn't fall but I ended up throwing my bike because I was stressing about her... but no worries because no broken bones or anything just some worried Lookpuu's and Ming's that's all! They all came to the rescue... that is one thing I love about the people here... if someone get's hurt everyone is on the road helping..

Pioneer Day Celebration

Friday:

ZONE TRAINING- learned a lot about how to be a PMG missionary and about just got reminded about how truly lucky we are to be here and be missionaries in Cambodia... I truly love it here.
Then we went and saw Ming Sroy and taught her burdens and trials. She is having a hard time because turns out her daughter is still a little sick, and she thinks God isn't helping her... we just helped her try to recognize the miracles that she has already had... he really has helped her a lot she just doesn't realize it!

Then we taught Muoy and we just read about Abinidi, it has been one of my favorite memories just reading missionary stories with Muoy, it just reminds me how lucky i am to be out here. Plus it makes me way excited for Muoy to be able to experience all the miracles and growth that you get on a mission. Honestly everyone should go! it really is the best thing for your life... I wouldn't trade mine for the world.

Nada has the coolest shirt

Saturday:

We had English class, and then we went to a Pioneer Party.. it was pretty chaotic... but it was good.. Nada brought her cousin who wants to learn, and she also gave us two other referrals... she is a champ haha! Seriously she loves sharing the gospel it's awesome! Also transfer calls rolled around again... this time I got the call on Saturday from President why on saturday? Because I am transferring on Monday to Chatamok and I will be Sister Senior Traning Leader and working some in the office. My comp is going to be Sister Or Max who is from Siem Reap! I am pretty excited... and I feel like I am for sure going to learn a lot haha! Just like every transfer I guess! I really grateful for the time I have had to serve here in Chomkamon! It has honestly been so fun, and gone by so fast... I love the people there... luckily I am not moving that far away!

Goodbyes are so hard.

Sunday:

We taught Neri, Saden, and Dara our investigators all before church, and then after church we went on splits and taught our other 3 investigators... I am telling ya this area is doing so well right now, so many people with the desire to learn and are progressing towards baptism! I am sad to leave it! I have loved every second of it there, and seen so many miracles... I feel pretty lucky to be out here!
Thanks for everything! I love you all so much!!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!!
